There are no obstacles on the floor, so do not step over. You need just throw your foot from the hip forward fast and slightly slide (as you are
skating). Your energy on the foot in front of you is crucial. The leg goes first, then your body, never otherwise.
Your goal is to make a triangle between your legs below the knees: one leg slightly bends and another is stretched forward. This is correct for
women as well in many positions of Argentine Tango. This energy comes with a strong frame, connection and communication between the
bodies. In order to control women better, try to keep your right arm on the bra line, across her spine, and don’t bend your elbow. It should be
under her armpit, and sometimes your arm slides farther to the left side of your partner in order to give her more space when you lead ochos or
other complicated movements.
Argentine Tango is a dance which asks for a torque. In order to be connected, we should accompany each other; follow each other’s shoulders
and torque. Your upper body should dissociate from your hips. It means your hips could look in one direction, but your upper body should be
with your partner, maybe in the other direction. “The belly-button is your flashlight!” my teacher liked to repeat.
You need to focus on a strong concentration to development such a special tango walk. Almost for all movements, the energy of the steps goes down to the floor. Sending some energy to the foot in front of you is the crucial moment for the communication between the bodies. The Real Art of The Tango Walk
During 2002 - 04 I have been performing tango on the cruise ships with Los Pampas Devils. A great dancer, a fabulous leader and a partner, my
tango teacher, Hugo Daniel told me: - If you want to improve your tango walking technique faster, you need to practice your walk alone,
especially backwards, and while you are dancing the music, remember about the torque and the posture. During our several trips to Argentina
we took classes with different distinguished teachers, but only a few of them talked about the distinctive Tango walks. However, you will
recognize a real hight skilled tango dancer by watching he walks.
During our lessons we give some historical explanations of some tango movements, and use different images to help people to understand tango
spets better. It brings great fun to the lessons.

Gentlemen! I have some news for
you: you have to be leaders in
Tango! Tango is an Elite Dance.
In order to improve your dance,
learn it persistently. People who
seriously invested their effort in
the tango learning process will
get successful.
When both partners are compatible, they listen to each other and to the music. They both dance to the same musical instrument. This is real
Tango. But even when they compatible, every couple as a unit will dance different musical instruments. Then, if they will be in a harmony
with each other, they could create a very special design of the dance. This is why every couple on the dance floor is very different and special.
Every leader has different perception and interpretation of the specific Tango music. I think this is the reason why tango is so challenging, and
this is what keeps creative people with tango for a lifetime.
I would like to contribute to you some of my observations and knowledge from my own experience as a dancer and a teacher. Everybody could
use these First, an elegant Tanguero walks gently as a cat, or as a spy who afraid to wake somebody up.
Develop Your Elegant Tango Walk
All tango music has low bit, low sound and you fallow such bit and rhythm. When you are listening to the music, try to imagine what you will dance and where is the rhythm. Try
to practice alone for 5 minutes a day. Your persistence will make your progress! Your persistence will make you a good dancer, a strong business person. If you already know many
steps, you need to put an effort and do different combinations during the dance and try to use all steps that you know, trying to change this combinations on each corner! Please, do
not stick with the same pattern that is might be comfortable for you. Some men do one pattern with all kind of tango music. In order to progress you need to try to do different
combinations with different music. When you learned something new, you need to use it in your dancing. Then it will be some progress in your varieties. Otherwise, without
practice you will soon forget new steps. Every woman enjoys a Tanguero who with wide vocabulary who uses all “complicated things “ that he knows. Who likes to dance with a
partner who does the basic contraction or “box” all the time and all evening?!
With all these suggestions in mind, your dance will improve and you will have incredible pleasure! Since tango asks for tremendous concentration and deep brain exercise, you will
have good feelings and some satisfaction when you dance it correctly. You will feel that you achieved a lot. In addition, you will feel superiority among all, you will fell that you are
stronger than many others. You will get so much power that everything in your life will get better. You will learn to apply your power to all sides of your life and business!
The best way to achieve fast and best result is to come to our lessons and try to learn how to walk in tango. When you are trying to concentrate your brain on some steps, please,
remember that Tango is not just steps, but techniques, which keep you connected with a woman. All these suggestions will make your Tango very elegant and beautiful. Then any
woman will dream to dance with you, and you will collect all pleasure and the deepest enjoyment among all. Finally, Tango will give you the happiest time in your life. At least, it
gives me!
In order to stop at any time your follower you need to keep your right elbow tightly on the left side of a woman under her upper arm. If you are in an open position, your arm just
slides on the bra line to the left side of a woman, closer to the upper left arm of a woman. Your fingers are still having tight contact with a woman’s back. It gives more space between
your bodies. You should not lose the contact with your follower, because the strong contact is very important for your lead.
Before the first movement, you need to check where is the weight of your partner: move your spine from side to side. Then, send a special
energy signal, a “lead” to her; first put your energy in front of you, and then a woman begins to dance.
My teacher, Hugo Daniel, who was learning Tango from Juan Carlos Copes, told me, “If you want to improve Tango technique faster, you
need to practice your walk alone, and while you are dancing, remember about the torque.” There is no elegant Tango without this torque, and
you dance as a soldier with a wall across you, if you don’t torque. All these “small details” make Argentino Tango so beautiful. Finally, you
will develop this well-known Argentino tango passionate walk, if you will remember these my hints.
Your right hand is your leading instrument, “a staring wheel", and it controls a woman. In order to have a good contact with a woman you need to keep your right fingers tightly on
the line of a bra. In addition, it is necessary that this right hand will cross the spine of a woman. Otherwise, she will not fell the lead. Your fingers are your tools as well; and they do a
lot of job controlling almost all movements of a woman. You probably saw in some videos that a skilled Tanguero’s fingers are playing violin on a woman back!
Put your foot almost flat on the ground. The walking does not mean dragging or skating. When men walk, it looks like feet cares the hair of the floor. It has a point at the end of
the shoe (opposite to the ballroom style where the dancers walk with the heels first). The most important part of the tango walking techniques is the ankles stretching forward. But it
does not look like a ballerina walks. It would look funny. It is a joy to watch the real tango master, and it is a very rare opportunity!
Then, put your weight on the stretching leg, bend it and slide- step slightly forwards with your energy and intention to move. This intention and this energy should be in front of
you. This is your leading impulse for women, she feels this energy and it pushes her to move, as well.
WALK BACK. The first thing that you should do is to stretch your leg back from the hip, t h e n slightly bend it, then put your weight on it, t h e n bring another leg to it, but through
the touching of your ankle and the knee! Always remember, that your hill of your moving back shoe should be on the floor as long as possible and down almost horizontal to the floor
at the end of this movement! It is almost invisible, but it is important.
On our lessons we use many different images, which help you to understand what is correct technique for Tango. While dancing, we should not all the time lean forward or backwards
while waking in Tango. Our weight is in the middle, like we want to sit down in every single step. Whatever we do in Tango, our knees bend a little, but not too much, they are just
always soft! This is very important: not to lock your knees!
When you walk forward, we should picture that somebody holds and keeps your shirt behind you and tries to pull you back. Nevertheless, you are trying to escape from that person.
On the opposite, when you are walking back, you imagine that somebody holds your shirt in front of you. Before the first movement, leaders need to check where the weight of his
partner is. It is done by moving the spine from side to side with no steps. Then, leaders send special energy leading signal forward to a partner from the chest or better from the belly
bottom. Put your energy in the front of you, and if she feels it, she would move. Men lead first, give that impulse, then men follow, accompany women. For the first waking step you
stretch right leg forward in a "promenade position", another leg is bend slightly. Your weight is on your bending left leg. Be sure that one knee is behind the other one. So, you should
have a shape of a triangle between the legs You are in a position like you want to sit down, with your spine down vertically to the floor.

While you are dancing, try to walk correctly from one wall to the other, stop at the each corner and do some combinations there according the music. Therefore, you will have four
corners with four combinations and four walks inside or outside a woman. By doing it you will organize your dance space, and it will give you some structure and design of your dance.
A man need to navigate his movements in a big circle, and should not cut the corners of the room! It would be wiser and more comfortable for all when you would move on the outer
space, but not inside the smallest circle. The smallest circle make you very tight and crowded, and uncomfortable.

Then, you bend both legs slightly and softly; bring your left leg to the ankle and to the knee of the right leg. Then, you stretch your left leg forward in a position of "promenade".

look like you trying to protect a woman. Your shoulders and your upper back are rounded, like in a position of "gorilla" or "boxer". Your body from your waist is pulling- scratching
down to the floor in a position like you are going to sit down.

While you are dancing, try to concentrate on your own steps and what kind combinations to put on this specific music. Do not concentrate on a woman or her feelings, just go and
dance the music! Think about yourself and your steps, about YOUR techniques! Think about your strength. Tell yourself that you are strong and powerful. Move without
embarrassing and without the fear that you could make mistakes. You will do mistakes repeatedly if you will concentrate on "how not to do them". Just move with the rhythm of the
music, not slowly, but with the rhythm of the specific music at that moment. Always listen to the bit, which is on low sound of the bandaneon or piano. Never try to walk with the
violin or voice, or with different variation of the improvisation.
